Amenda Quartet: October 7, 2012

Join the Amenda Quartet in the next installment on their "Project Ludwig" journey - performing all of the Beethoven string quartets. This evening features the monumental Quartet Op. 130, written near the end of Beethoven's life. They will perform the quartet with its "alternate" fourth movement which replaces Beethoven's original "Grosse Fuge" (stay tuned for a future performance of the Fuge!). The first quartet of Smetana, titled "From My Life," creates a perfect pairing with the Beethoven - Smetana, like Beethoven, was deaf when he wrote this work - its Hungarian flavors saturate the quartet colors with remarkable richness.

Make sure to collect your Op. 130 Amenda Quartet Trading Card at this evening's concert!
